it is a backyard celebration of this class....with birds flying and banners too awaiting the guests!!
How it might look framed...hmmm?
Here is saluting the flag. I kinda cheated because in my search for memory panel pages I found an old print of a flag I did years ago to look like a pieced quilt. So I cut out the letters and stripes and blue section and it really needed to be brighter and bigger (spoiled by the pinwheel!) so I took my trusty Caran d Ache water soluble crayons and enhanced the dull colors. Then I cut out some little drawn and colored stars I made and sewed them on like I did the letters. The balance of the arrangement is OFF but my sewing machine was so stubborn with this flag that I was just happy to get the letters on at all!! I kept breaking needle and knotting thread!! I am not thrilled with it but it's okay....maybe not using the old print. Would have been more funky!! Happy flag day... June 14th!!!! Enjoy!

IT IS ROUND AND ROUND YOU GO...
I just thought I'd show you what's been going 'round! We have done our third or fourth project in a hoop! I had a BIG hoop! I added a button to the middle with the threads that were left as tails. Next will be a memory sheet. Oooo it is late.....2:30am! Yawn. Blessings. Enjoy!!

DO I CUT IT?!?? YES...YES...I DID!!!
How do you like my new brush cleaning jar!? On sale at TJ Max. 4.00! The lid screws on plus you can't knock it over! Love it!
This is before I did the last cutting!
It rained all day and I was anxious to continue to create some art. But my work area became so crowded I was knocking things over, so I decided to clean up for the week of more SEWN Classes coming up....and in cleaning that area of boxes still packed from our move I found old wallpaper and lots of my old art and doodlings I can use in paper fabric making and also to put into my visual journals!! So cleaning was productive and I added onto this piece. Which now I am going to cut into three strips and rearrange!! There are old local postcards and my art plus vintage paper but mostly just painted papers. Enjoy! And blessings to you!
An old frame that MIGHT work on this one....would like to add some big words on top.....thinking!!

REVIVED WITH ART!!!
This afternoon was productive and quiet with no little visitors. It rained so everyone stayed home which gave me much time to play with more painted patterns, arranging, picking colors etc. I am supposed to cut them again, but like them now, BUT DO I OBEY the teacher?....I do want a star on my paper! Ha....The lampshade is still where it was for another day but these things I cut and sewed today has ideas popping into my head!! Enjoy!!

NOT SEWN UP YET!!
It is not on the lamp it will go on..just a post....I am sweating this one out!! If it doesn't work, I can make it into a garden hat!! I wonder what my new neighbors will think!! Ha...LOVE this class with Mary Ann Moss!
The following photos are of two 6x9 journals, the inside ready to doodle in, from cut strips of the painted pattern papers and then the upcoming project I am trying by sewing angled cut strips of my patterned papers to form a slip on lamp shade for a lamp I have with a white shade. This shade should just sit on it covering the white shade and with the light on will hopefully be pretty and able to make some of the colors glow. Watch for the finished project soon. As we continue to sew paper fabric with our painted patterns!
