Dick and I have made some big changes for the year to come!! We are downsizing to free us up to do the things we have always wanted to do ..... that is.... free to travel, spend more time together, follow His lead for new adventures, no more retail store after 27 years, more time with kids, but still MORE ART and probably some sewing classes for girls ..... that is a dream right now ..... but the ART won't stop, it will be here on the blog as soon as we finish remodeling our NEW/OLD smaller home about 20 miles away. SO STAY TUNED ... we'll be having a big sale and beautiful house and property SALE in the SUMMER!! MORE FREEDOM ON IT'S WAY!!! WooHoo!!! And THANKS for all your support the last twenty seven years in my shop!!!
thanks!.... to each one of you for your encouragement.... I read each and every comment and feel blessed that you would leave one. I hope you enjoy the blog, come visit again!!!

CHILDREN'S ART
I love to do art with children because it frees you up...you aren't doing a piece to please someone....just yourself....I find that so relaxing....not performing.
Folding Airplanes?
Well, a nice surprise from my hubby....he has discovered detailed paper airplane building (folding and gluing)....and makes the same kind of mess that he used to complain about when I made my crafty messes...but I have welcomed his company at the table! The paper airplanes come on a downloaded sheet of card stock from www.fiddlersgreen.net.....they are very pretty and very inexpensive....a great project for kids age 6 to 100 years old! They would even be pretty framed in a man or boy's or girl's room! Like for you, ELI !!! ...and Olivia, too. Check them out!
Big Yellow...
His First Love...Airplanes! ...this is Tito and Peck!
"A" was for their last name, and "G" was her maiden name....wish I had pics of each letter with all the different children....maybe later! This was a joy to do for them!!!
A picture for the author page....
An old page piece from a book..
AND now the fun day with a grand daughter!! The old fifties case was a dirty blue color and we got to work to make it something new!!
The first pictures are of a small "ABC" book I made for a special new baby in our circle of friends! There was a "tree letter" for each letter with different pictures of children or a horse etc painted on them....then a blank page opposite for the new parents to add their story each day....the cover paper was a manipulated antique page from an old book....and inside a little collage from another antique book....I used my "Zutter" for the first time to cut the pages and align them....can't wait to do more personalized little books with my art!!
THEN here is a series of an afternoon project with my grand daughter before she moved. She needed a bag for hair stuff etc....so we went to the garage and found this old makeup suitcase from the fifties and we mixed a color of purple she so desired and we printed, quickly, some photos and began to arrange it the way she wanted....It was all HER design and with her favorite Kitty, Sunny! ....and all her cousins, grandparents and family! Her favorite things this year while living next door were the birthday parties, cooking, spending time with family, friends and the cat!! So here is her finished suitcase!!! It was another "special day" to remember for us two!! My first grand child!!! Enjoy doing something with one of your family or a friend today!!! Blessings to you!!! sherry
Just like the artist Mystele said....as didPJ's Talking...."If you lay all your colors and background in on a canvas... then lay it aside to dry .... if you look at it, turn it, a picture of something might develop within the colors and forms" .... WELL .... sure enough I tried it. As it dried I saw this form that the girl takes and I already had "Cats" in mind so I added the Mama cat with her baby, "Shiney"( according to Olivia at age four "Shiney" means white and that's what she named her first kitty .... I guess that kitty was "shiney brite"!) It is wrapped in scripture. I did it quicker than I've ever done a painting, but STILL over worked it!! I'm used to watercolors, mixing the colors and only re-wetting them to use later. There is no "later" with acrylics. I know I have more to learn!! Enjoy.....FORGOT to mention that the original is painted on a canvas and the sripture border is actually on the sides of the canvas....but for printing it I put it as a border for this .... PRINTS are available 12x16 ...email me if you are interested in any of the copyrighted work as prints.
