SO STAY TUNED ... we'll be having a big sale and beautiful house and property SALE in the SUMMER!! MORE FREEDOM ON IT'S WAY!!! WooHoo!!! And THANKS for all your support the last twenty seven years in my shop!!!

THE CHURCH LADY?

Here they are framed....just a trial set....for the shop This "Be Attitude" was hard because I couldn't quite get her face or expression right....maybe it is right. Anyway a funny thing happened with this one....I showed it to my grand daughter, age nine, and she read it.....then she said, "Mimi, this would be a good Valentine for a husband who has left his wife!" Well, I had to laugh because she didn't know it was scripture (Matthew 5:11), so her imagination made it what she thought. We are from a family of strong women who also point that finger when we need to to get our husband's attention or make a point! We DO still have our husbands too...ha...Anyway, here she is...... she reminds me of maybe some of the "Church ladies" that have been bad mouthed through the years, but were maybe right. Her glove makes me think of the days when they wore hats and gloves to church....anyway, enjoy!! I have a few more coming...that I like more! Again, if you want to read the Beatitudes...see the link to it in the post below. BLESSINGS!!! Keep warm!!!!

EXHAUSTED BUT BATHED IN LOVE...

There is TOO MUCH to share that was wonderful and exhausting during the Antiques Fair! So I am posting the new blooms in my yard......Monday night after all had calmed down with thousands of people, I went to bed but couldn't sleep..... I finally woke up and began to cry...and cry....like a child... whimpering and all.....not because I was sad, but because I was PURELY EXHAUSTED! So Tuesday morning I got my usual cup of coffee, my three dipping hard cookies (I know, bad!!!) and my Bible and sat in my comfy porch rocker and just sat and sipped on my hot coffee. It was one of the most beautiful mornings, crisp, clear blue, blue sky, completely still, birds chirping, flying and landing all around me where the feed was, my flowers all beginning to bloom, the fragrance of my roses near by, and the sun warming everything to encourage it's growth for spring which has arrived. It was incredible beauty and I felt so "bathed" in His love and His Glory! Like He was saying...."It's okay, just rest....see what I have created for you..." I just kept saying to myself...."I LOVE YOUR "WOW" FACTOR....I Love Your "WOW" Factor...." I felt so thankful and grateful in spite of my tiredness! I looked for the word "bathed" in scripture and it took me to John 13:1-18....where Jesus is going to wash the feet of His disciples...... will we let down our hair, suck up our pride, and allow Him to wash our feet, maybe our stinky feet.... ? ....will we let Him "BATHE" us in His Love for us and "BATHE" us in His Glory...? No matter what circumstances we are in or how frustrating life might be ....can we REST in His love and let Him wash our feet? And then can we wash the feet of others...? It is a beautiful example Christ gave us to learn of His Love....Happy Easter....which is Resurrection Day!! Thanks to all of you who participated in our lives these last few weeks and thanks to you who affirmed me by loving my art! I have bare walls.... Blessings to you all.... I made some special new friends too!!

Stanley,Tito & the Parrots, Me and New ART!

Pilar was too scared to go in the cage.... but she WAS there too...it was raining so not many pictures.... The smeary original for the above is on the post "Works in Progress" I think I like the original smears above best...?? I can't find the photo of the smeary beginning of this bird...but I like the end result... Well, Stanley earned his visit to the ZOO....we LOVED the parrots!!!! It was a fun surprise when the parrots all landed on our heads.... they were the sweetest birds!! I needed the get away before the big ANTIQUES FAIR that begins in these parts again on March 24th thru April 5th! Thousands of people, and good deals to buy, people set up all over the pastures, dance halls, town squares and yards ..... I have had more requests for the B&B than ever before! ??? ...the economy?! I have added a few antiques to my yearly sale.... among other goodies and more new art and some sculptures.... new to the batch of work from the studio! Remember this one with the paint smeared on the canvas and then set aside to see if I saw a picture in it?...It is on the post "WORKS IN PROGRESS" below .... well, here it is finished with not much done to it....I HAVE TO TRY THIS AGAIN!!! It is "Walking in the Garden"......then the girl's face "Hide and Seek"was the second one and then the bird "My pop-corn ball curtain"was the third one..... NOT ALL GREAT but I have loved the spontaneous process....I have more started.....and of course I have prints for anyone who wants a print....or the originals in the gallery next week. I have written scripture on the backs of the canvases with a personal note....I do PRAISE HIM for the joy I get while painting and creating..... it ministers to my soul. I have been stuck, delightfully, on these scriptures for all my painting last week.....Isaiah 55:10,11. I just love what it says....especially the part that says....."it will not return to Me empty." And I love my garden, and His garden! We are His garden too.....planting seeds, growing, watering and harvesting....beautiful and hopeful. Enough...chat...here are the goods!!! Enjoy!

NEW PAPERS...for collage or journaling

A few more from our trip to Ohio... I love this graphic look. A collage I am working on with my new papers...forgot to list the floral.. Two papers of texture and an old front door.... Yes, I'm still painting but not finished with several....too many irons in the fire and spring is on it's verge..... so the yard calls my name. But something I've been toying with are some new ideas of developing unique papers for collage.....(since I do mine) I sent some to a collage/mixed media artist and she has really encouraged me. So I will have some for sale in my Gallery for mixed media artists. They of course are unique because they are exclusively designed. No big deal but fun..... It is still art and how I have enjoyed playing with it! They will be printed on thinner, but archival paper and archival inks, that don't run when wet.... at least mine haven't. So here are a few for your eyes..... they will be by the sheet (or in packets) I think?....depending on the saturation of color, etc. Leave me your thoughts if you have any.... I'm open for any critique or information on it...ENJOY!!

I LOVE this Old Quilt!

I am working on some new art but not ready to post it....so I will post some recent pictures of a favorite old quilt that hangs in my stair well. I bought it about twenty years ago in the college town where my son was going to school.....and it was so exciting because the lady at the antique shop said she had bought it years ago in Round Top!!...but couldn't remember from who. I was so thrilled to get a bargain and to bring it back home where it belongs. It is tiny squares, I think called postage stamp...? Look at the beautiful stitching done in a shell pattern...! Anyway, wouldn't this make a fabulous paper printed for journaling or art? I think I will print it for myself....a few different sheets.....if you are interested email me and I'll quote you a price for the printing...or per sheet. ENJOY!!!
