EXCITING CHANGES TO COME!!!

Dick and I have made some big changes for the year to come!! We are downsizing to free us up to do the things we have always wanted to do ..... that is.... free to travel, spend more time together, follow His lead for new adventures, no more retail store after 27 years, more time with kids, but still MORE ART and probably some sewing classes for girls ..... that is a dream right now ..... but the ART won't stop, it will be here on the blog as soon as we finish remodeling our NEW/OLD smaller home about 20 miles away. SO STAY TUNED ... we'll be having a big sale and beautiful house and property SALE in the SUMMER!! MORE FREEDOM ON IT'S WAY!!! WooHoo!!! And THANKS for all your support the last twenty seven years in my shop!!!

TRAINING IN WAITING....by TRUSTING

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PEYTON!!!!! ARE YOU HAVING FUN TODAY!!?? Maybe my new banner for the blog.....or am I too attached to the old one? All with a ball point pen....fun doodling and some color.....bliss!! Who knew?! ...Alisa Burke did!!! Love her class! More ball point pen doodling....such fun!! I discovered this on the chalkboard after the children went home .... Pilar drew this !! She is 10 and going to be baptized in two (weeks) Sundays.... I would say she is excited!! I would love this on an invitation..."Today is Sunday!" There are a lot of activities for the youth on Sunday at our church....so happy when the kids look forward to going! Waiting is not one of my pluses .... and I am learning to accept someone else's (God's?) timing. Actually, I am at peace with the timing of our "downsizing" progress .... sort of up in the air until the next project is finished and we move on to the following item that usually we are tripping on! And in between I sneak in a little doodling and drawing with a ball point pen, pencil or micron pen and some water colors added ... my joy is doing SOMETHING creative....it is the fuel for my being along with the THANKSGIVING of a true God who is soo alive in our daily lives. Even in the tough times, he must be by my side in my soul like life blood for me to continue each day. There is so much more good than bad about this world if you see it from His perspective! Anyway, things are good right now and I am loving the process of the progress!!!! No matter how slow!! One exciting item to mention is that they have built a sleeping loft in the big garage that I am turning into a studio in the new old house we will be moving to! I needed another bedroom for my kids and family when they come and the sleeping loft is what the kids are sooo excited about!! It will have a railing around it and they can see below.... kind of like being on the side of a mountain!! For a four year old, that is wayyy up there!! Blessings to you today!!!

JUST A LIST OF PRACTICE FROM GUT ART CLASSES

Some things look better upside down.... I will try to keep you posted on the practice art and new expressions in art after seeing videos or going on a field trip with Mystele in the GUT ART Classes.....I have realized two things....ONE: I DO love the freedom to create and play freely (not perform!) with the art....and TWO: I'm way too busy to be able to do all I need to do....especially in my art. It is something I have to do and will begin to dedicate more time to it. I'm working on some commissions and also trying to find my authentic voice in my soul of who I am through my art expression..... I have loved the play...I already said that!! Anyway, here are a few drawings done quickly after seeing a video on the Omo people....although my girl has way more hair than they do.....she was fun and want to continue to strike out in new directions, stretching myself and using different mediums...etc...etc....enjoy! I feel blessed to get to do this class with Mystele!!! Thank you girl!!!

WORKS IN PROGRESS.....

You can click on the pictures to see the detail better..... These are works in progress, some more finished than others. The vase of flowers on the magazine was the inspiration for the roses.....I like this one. I will put Isaiah 55:11 around the outer edge...."....a watered garden...." The ship one is an image transfer of an 1811 Argentine stamp, enhanced. Then the background surrounding the ship is a scanned antique handmade hankie I own from the days of the antique shop. It is from late 1800's and I printed it and then did my first image transfer. It was time consuming but fun and I learned something. Then the outer edge is stamping on kraft paper with pencil and oil pastel enhancements around the scripture...."Go therefore to all nations teaching....", at the end of Matthew. I still have to glue it on the four edges. The last one is one I am looking forward to finishing. You can see the image that developed by the painted shapes.... a woman with a hat on the garden path picking a flower and holding onto her hat. Trees in the back....and who knows what else. BUT on this one I CANNOT over work it like I did the last collage using all pottery barn catalog pages. Enjoy! Have a great week....I have!
