I MISS THIS FEELING OF BEING BATHED....AND YET....

I DID FEEL AND EXPERIENCE IT YESTERDAY CAUGHT IN THE DOWN POUR OF RAIN...... It was glorious.  The DROUGHT has not only been on the land, but in my heart. Sometimes I am so busy trying to be what others expect that I miss what is before me.  I have sooo many questions lately and yet .... I need no answer....doesn't make sense but I just want to be still and watch the birds ... one of His most satisfying creations!! Also, I am still doodling .... and I saw this quote today on a blog.  I can't take credit for it but loved what it said and it is what I need right now. "ART WASHES AWAY FROM THE SOUL THE DUST OF EVERYDAY." And today I need the dust washed away. It has gathered for awhile. Being bathed....the POST I refer to often is below in APRIL, 2009. I was exhausted and sitting on my old porch....one of those memorable days that fed your soul.  And in looking at that post, I need to plant a peach tree, a few more roses, and build a porch here in my new spot.....then be still.  Plus more bird feeders and baths!  Hope you have a blessed day .... and at least KNOW that God DOES love you.....right where you are at!  He yearns for our heart. Below are pictures of things from the years past that have made me feel bathed in His love...and lastly is getting to do my art....the zinnia says..."Hold on, Let go.".....Til tomorrow!

NOT SEWN UP YET!!

It is not on the lamp it will go on..just a post....I am sweating this one out!! If it doesn't work, I can make it into a garden hat!! I wonder what my new neighbors will think!! Ha...LOVE this class with Mary Ann Moss!

The following photos are of two 6x9 journals, the inside ready to doodle in, from cut strips of the painted pattern papers and then the upcoming project I am trying by sewing angled cut strips of my patterned papers to form a slip on lamp shade for a lamp I have with a white shade.  This shade should just sit on it covering the white shade and with the light on will hopefully be pretty and able to make some of the colors glow.   Watch for the finished project soon. As we continue to sew paper fabric with our painted patterns!

SO A BIG DEAL?...YES, IT WAS!!!

One big patterns journal cover cut, pieced, sewn!!!  It is only the cover so far at 11x17 one side. I am using it right now just as a folder to hold all the painted patterns.  Ok, so it is not my usual detailed water colors with lots of preparations and drawing first but let me tell you how fun painting the patterns was!  No thinking or planning.  Just putting on color like a child would. You know just playing, praying and having fun!!  Well, I wonder what the next surprise project will be for our patterns!!? Enjoy and blessings to you!

SEWING. SEW. SEWN!!

Too fun I say!!! Too fun!! It's funny, I couldn't CUT my patterns!!! Sooo the first pattern journal I made with printed papers (below)and wrapping from the 70's was for my sister!! Since  Mary Ann makes journals for her sis....  That is what I did!!  Then I made a boy , Lucas, who went to camp for the first time a journal(above and upside down), sewn of course!!! THEN I FINALLY got brave and started to cut my patterns that I painted myself!!!  I have five piles of patterns that I think work together. Starting (it is at the top, laid out) with the least favorite and will insert a little drawing I had of our donkey....loved him so!  He is now at a children's camp since we downsized. This journal is BIG. Just the front page cover is laid out.  So far....  Still thinking how to sew that big baby since I already cut all those patterns!!! Maybe I'll finish it tomorrow.  Yawn.....sorry, they are in reverse order and Luca's is upside down!  Well, you get the idea!!  I KNOW MARY DOES!!

GLORIOUS FUN WITH BRUSH, PAINT,INKS, CRAYONS....WATER....CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT WE DO WITH ALL THIS IN THE SEWN CLASS  WITH MARY ANN MOSS!!!  Not sure why there is a big space here!!! Anyway, the first attempt to do the link up came up blank, but there are more patterns in JUNE if you would like to look!!  The butterfly one with words is for a youth in our church...or a copy of it.....these were truly relaxing and fun to do and I think I will never ever stop!!! THANK YOU MARY ANN!!!!  The 12th design down (lots of black and grey lines with orange, red, oval shapes connected) is actually the design of another on Pinterest...can't find who, but I tried a similar look here....so it is not my original thought....but do love the black lines!

Here are patterns painted,drawn, created for the class I am taking from Mary Ann Moss.  SEWN. What a delightful name for a class. It leaves your mind thinking of all the possibilities. And tomorrow we will find out what to do with these!!!  I just know that no doodling ever done again will be neglected or lay unused!  That is just how a friend of mine operates ... All things are possible thru Him!  Enjoy!!
