EXCITING CHANGES TO COME!!!

Dick and I have made some big changes for the year to come!! We are downsizing to free us up to do the things we have always wanted to do ..... that is.... free to travel, spend more time together, follow His lead for new adventures, no more retail store after 27 years, more time with kids, but still MORE ART and probably some sewing classes for girls ..... that is a dream right now ..... but the ART won't stop, it will be here on the blog as soon as we finish remodeling our NEW/OLD smaller home about 20 miles away. SO STAY TUNED ... we'll be having a big sale and beautiful house and property SALE in the SUMMER!! MORE FREEDOM ON IT'S WAY!!! WooHoo!!! And THANKS for all your support the last twenty seven years in my shop!!!

I AM AMAZED !!!!

Yes, I am amazed that I haven't blogged since early Fall!! So involved with room addition, new plumbing, new bathroom and washroom, plus a a porch on the back to observe the birds and breathe the fresh air!! I got to be the contractor with an intelligent young man's help finding contractors....and all went well!! The inspector and I became well acquainted with one another through all the inspection processes!! I think I got an A !!
Anyway, just to let you know we are well and had a low key Christmas here after traveling early to share all the gifts with grand kids. Here are a few views from Walnut Street (and the kids in our lives), even though we didn't decorate much but know and cherish the real meaning of Christmas .... and we celebrate that all year! The birth and resurrection of a Savior, JESUS CHRIST .... our Savior that gives HOPE, PEACE and LOVE in this chaotic world. I pray you experience HIS SPIRIT that lives forever!! Enjoy the little details from here! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! And BLESSINGS!!!

FOR THE DOLL

ANTIQUE TRIM found at a junk shop.
Three layers of shimmer and sparkle...all remnants from the remnant bin at WalMart.
A new trim where I removed the line of pearls to sew onto the dress.

I inserted old seam binding under the lace trim for more pink!
This antique trim below and above reminds me of the work of Karen Ruane at contemporary embroidery blog ...she has fabulous classes.
This grand daughter is all about PINK!! She is the baby and the dress is for the baby doll.

Been really busy.  I am doing what I did at age 10 living in Spain where there was no TV in 1957, but many things to learn to do for your doll!  A treasured time in my life where Mari Robles taught me to hand sew my doll clothes..... AND NOW 57 years later....I am still making doll clothes!!  But this time for the precious grand daughter and not me! I am 67, she is 6.  I have seven outfits in the works but want to just show you this one for now.  I pick up dollar and two dollar remnants of fabrics all year long, trims and old seam binding at antique shops.   Then the magic comes with what they transpire into....for a different little Cinderella!  With the MAGIC of a NEEDLE and THREAD!! BLESSINGS at Christmas to YOU ALL!!  CELEBRATE THE SAVIOR OF THE WORLD!!
I am also making a pink lush velveteen fur trimmed cape!!
